Sunday, July 16
After a wonderful five days in Arreau, we left the Hotel d'Angleterre on Sunday
and drove 570 km from the
Pyrenees to out B&B in the Luberon, Le Mas Perreal. Traffic was heavy around some of the larger
cities since it was the end of the Bastille Day weekend.
We stopped for lunch in the city of Narbone and had a
fantastic lunch; definitely worth a few photographs!
After lunch we took a short drive over to Narbone Beach
which is right on the Mediterrean.
We arrived at our B&B around 5:30 PM, visited with the
owners Kevin and Elisabeth, unpacked, showered and headed off to the nearby village
of Goult for dinner. Although we've had dinners in this village two other times, this restaurant was the best for food and atmosphere. Out table was on the second floor outdoor terrace.
Another incredible
meal, and definitely photo worthy.
Our appetizers: marinated
grill tuna for Joni, temporary langoustines & gazpacho for me
Our main dishes: crust
of roast lamb with herbes for Joni, Hake in a chorizo butter sauce for me
Desserts: candied
orange zest nougat glace with apricot sauce for Joni, goat cheese drizzled with honey
and walnuts for me
